Flowers rosy-purple buds open to single pink flowers in large pyramidal clusters (panicles), mild fragrance. Has excellent mildew resistance. Introduced in 1959 by Albert F. Yeager (1892-1961) of the University of New Hampshire. It is the result of a cross of S. ×josiflexa 'Royalty' × an unknown.

 Planting

It tends to grow somewhat tall, typically reaching a clearance of around 3 feet from the ground, making it suitable for planting beneath power lines. It maintains a moderate growth rate and, under optimal conditions, can thrive for approximately 30 years.

This shrub thrives in full sunlight and exhibits great adaptability to both dry and moist environments, making it well-suited for various landscape settings. It shows indifference to soil type or pH level. Moreover, it displays high tolerance to urban pollution, thriving even in inner-city environments. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid.
