Planting

Prior to planting, it is recommended to add organic materials like compost or peat moss to the soil to enhance drainage and acidity. When placing the plant in the hole, make sure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface or slightly above. Avoid planting rhododendrons too deep as it can suffocate the roots. As you fill the hole with a soil mixture, gently tamp it down to remove any air pockets. After planting, water the rhododendron deeply to properly settle the soil around the roots.
